Average cost-per-click

I was chatting with a happy AdBrite advertiser the other day and told him to spread the word. “Are you kidding?” he said. “You’re my golden goose! I’m not telling anyone!” We hear this a lot and we like it.

But sometimes an advertiser will tell us that he expected to get more clicks for the price he paid. That’s because he didn’t look at the Average CPC by Industry.

Here’s the deal.

AdBrite sells most ads “flat-rate”. That means that advertisers pay a set price for a specified time period. For example, as of this writing, an ad on mobile phone portal, Zedge, costs $80 per week. If you buy that ad, it will cost you $80, whether you get one click or a million clicks. Because of this, we display “Average CPC” (Cost-Per-Click) for each site. This number is simply a calculation of how many clicks previous advertisers on Zedge received, divided by how much they paid.

However, some ads do better on some sites. So make sure to scroll down and look at Average CPC by Industry. As I write this, people advertising “mobile phones & cellular” stuff on Zedge are effectively paying, on average, only 2-cents per click. “Dating” advertisers, on the other hand, are paying 76-cents per click. That’s 38x more! You’re a dating advertiser? Click on over to The Love Calculator and get clicks for only 2-cents.

You can even browse our directory and select “View the average CPC for your industry” (see the list in the upper-right of the directory).

You’ll find outstanding deals on AdBrite if you use it effectively. Let us know if we can help find the right sites for you.

Rock on,
pud
